Big Changes in 2024-2025!

SoBaD has experienced many changes over the past academic year. In October, we moved out of our lab on the Corner to the new Batten Behavioral Science Lab (BBSL) in the West Complex. We launched our first in-lab experiment at the BBSL in February with our newest research assistants: Anika Agarwal and Solyana Kumlachew.

In April, Shelly Tsang defended her thesis, and is graduating with her PhD this May! Maura Austin, a former SoBaD PhD student and current postdoc, is transitioning to UVA's National Security Data and Policy Institute. Three of our research assistants are graduating: Luna (Jiayue) Su graduated in December, and Thomas Boak and Ria Khandelwal graduate in May. Ria presented her research for the Distinguished Majors Program at UVA's L. Starling Reid Psychology Research Conference in April. Congratulations to everyone! We're excited to see where the future will take you!
